Heat Stress Advisory Issued in Singapore due to Rising Temperatures
Protections in Place for Outdoor Workers
Updated Regulations Aim to Prevent Heat-Related Illnesses
In a move to address the escalating temperatures in Singapore, the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) and the National Environment Agency (NEA) have collaborated to implement a comprehensive Heat Stress Advisory. This advisory serves as a crucial measure to safeguard the well-being of individuals, particularly those engaged in outdoor activities under direct sunlight exposure.
The advisory emphasizes the necessity for the general population to exercise caution and adopt cooling measures during prolonged periods outdoors. Employers are also urged to implement protective protocols for their outdoor workforce, ensuring the provision of shaded areas, frequent hydration breaks, and appropriate cooling apparatuses.
